Today, you'll depart from your country and begin your journey to Negombo, a charming beach town near Colombo, Sri Lanka. Upon your arrival, a tour representative will warmly greet you and escort you to your hotel in Negombo, ensuring a smooth and comfortable transfer.
Given that most flights arrive late at night, we've scheduled a leisurely morning for you to relax, catch up on sleep, and adjust to the new time zone before the tour activities commence.
You'll be staying overnight at the luxurious Heritance Negombo or a similar hotel, where you can unwind and recharge for the exciting adventure ahead.

After breakfast, enjoy a relaxed morning at your leisure, allowing you to soak in the tranquil atmosphere of Negombo.
In the afternoon, embark on a guided city tour of Negombo. Your tour guide will lead you through the town's fascinating sights, highlighting its rich history as an important colonial port. You'll learn about the extensive network of canals built by the Dutch in the late 17th century, which spans over 100 kilometers and was used to transport cinnamon and other spices from inland plantations to the coast.
After exploring the city, return to your hotel for a restful evening at leisure, where you can unwind and reflect on the day's discoveries.

After breakfast, meet your tour guide and set off on a scenic drive to Sigiriya, covering approximately 140 kilometers.
Alternatively, for $25 USD per person, enjoy a Sri Lankan Culinary Demonstration followed by lunch. Discover the rich culinary traditions of Sri Lanka, influenced by its multi-ethnic society. This vibrant cooking demonstration will showcase a variety of sweetmeats, rice, curries, sambals, and salads. You'll be captivated by the colorful ingredients used, from the blood-red chilli powder to the dark yellow saffron and earthy curry powders. After the demonstration, savor the delicious creations yourself.
For those interested, there's an optional tour to the Sigiriya Rock Fortress available for $36 USD per person. This UNESCO World Heritage site, constructed during the reign of King Kashyapa (477-495 AD), is known as the "Lion Rock" and rises 200 meters from the jungle floor. This ancient citadel, the heart of a 70-hectare fortified town, features a moat, rampart, and extensive gardens, including famous water gardens. You'll also have the chance to admire the renowned frescoes of the "Heavenly Maidens," painted in earth pigments on plaster and accessed via a spiral staircase.
After exploring Sigiriya, continue your journey to Kandalama. Upon arrival, check into your hotel for a restful night.

After breakfast, set out to explore the UNESCO World Heritage-listed city of Polonnaruwa, a magnificent site built in the 11th and 12th centuries AD. Here, you will marvel at the ruins of the Royal Palace, the Audience Hall, and the Lotus Bath. You'll also see the statue of King Parakramabahu and the Parakrama Samudraya, a vast lake constructed by the king himself. The highlight of your visit will be the Gal Viharaya, where you can admire four splendid Buddha statues carved out of rock in 'Upright', 'Sedentary', and 'Recumbent' postures. Additionally, you'll explore notable religious monuments such as the Shiva Temple, Lankathilaka, Vatadage, Galpotha, Kiri Vehera, and the remains of the former Temple of the Tooth Relic.

For $70 USD per person, embark on a Half-Day Jeep Safari in Minneriya National Park. This unforgettable excursion will take you through the 8,800-hectare wildlife sanctuary, where you'll witness herds of deer, diverse birdlife, and the main attraction - the majestic elephants. Park your jeep by the reservoir and watch as large groups of elephants, up to 300 at a time, gather on the grassy banks to feed on tender shoots. This spectacular sight is the largest elephant gathering in the world, making Minneriya a must-visit for wildlife enthusiasts.

After breakfast, embark on a scenic journey to Kandy, the last royal capital of Sri Lanka, covering approximately 100 kilometers. Our first stop is the magnificent Dambulla Cave Temple. Nestled within ancient caves, this sacred site boasts vibrant, impeccably preserved murals and sculptures dating back to the 1st century BCE. Among its treasures are 153 Buddha statues, regal depictions of Sri Lankan monarchs, and divine figures like Vishnu and Ganesha. Spanning 2,100 square meters, these artistic marvels offer a profound glimpse into the life and legacy of Gautama Buddha.
En route, you'll visit a spice garden in Matale, where you'll discover how Sri Lanka's renowned fragrant spices are cultivated.
Upon arriving in Kandy, enjoy a guided city tour that includes a visit to the bustling Kandy city center and the famous Kandy Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic (entrance not included). You’ll also explore a gem and lapidary museum, and get a taste of local life while wandering through the vibrant Kandy market.
To cap off the day, immerse yourself in Sri Lankan culture by attending a captivating cultural show, featuring traditional music and drumming that will fine-tune your evening.

After breakfast, set off for Peradeniya to visit the Royal Botanical Garden, covering approximately 80 kilometers. Upon arrival, you’ll stroll through this expansive 147-acre site, with its meticulously maintained lawns, charming pavilions, and the unique octagon conservatory. The garden boasts a stunning array of plant life, with highlights including the vibrant orchid house and the impressive giant Javan fig tree.
On our way to Nuwara Eliya, we will visit a tea plantation and tour a tea factory. Our visit starts in the lush plantation, where you'll learn about the intricate process of tea cultivation. Next, we'll explore the factory, home to ancient machines that pre-date the industrial revolution, responsible for withering, rolling, and drying the tea leaves.
Visiting the tea factory offers a fascinating glimpse into the history and process of tea production. You’ll also get to enjoy a fresh cup of tea and purchase various types of tea to take home. Afterwards, leave to Nuwara Eliya

This morning, we will arrange for a PickMe Breakfast. Following our meal, we will set off for an exhilarating jeep safari at Horton Plains. Located about 30 kilometers from Hotel, Horton Plains National Park nestles among the hills of the Nuwara Eliya district. The park's most striking landmark is "World's End," where the southern part of the plains abruptly ends with a sheer drop of nearly 700 meters. Horton Plains is home to a diverse array of birds and animals, offering a unique wildlife experience.
In the afternoon, your tour guide will meet you at the hotel to begin a sightseeing tour of Nuwara Eliya. You'll visit notable landmarks such as Bale Bazaar, the President’s House, and the Prime Minister's Residence. The tour concludes with a delightful High Tea at the historic Grand Hotel. Afterwards, you'll be transferred back to your hotel to relax and unwind.
